About the center

Sustainable, scalable healthcare infrastructure

The Port Sudan Dialysis Center represents HACF's commitment to sustainable, scalable healthcare infrastructure. Built on a 5,000 m² site, the center is equipped with a 118 kW solar power system and its own water treatment plant, ensuring reliable operations even in challenging conditions.

Phase 1 launched in August 2025 with 20 active dialysis machines. The facility is designed to scale up to 55 machines as demand grows and funding becomes available, allowing us to serve an increasing number of patients over time.

Future plans include the development of a dedicated kidney transplant unit, which will offer curative treatment options and comprehensive nephrology care to patients across the region.

Infrastructure designed for reliable care

The Port Sudan center was designed with sustainability at its core. The 118 kW solar power system reduces reliance on the electrical grid, ensuring uninterrupted operations even during power outages. The on-site water treatment plant provides a reliable source of purified water for dialysis, critical for patient safety and treatment quality.

These infrastructure investments not only improve operational reliability but also reduce long-term costs, allowing us to allocate more resources directly to patient care. As we expand to Phase 2 and beyond, we will continue to prioritize sustainable, patient-centered design.
